Observing the presidential election from afar gives me, even as a Dane living far far away, the creeps about the future.
Once I was actually a fan of Donald Trumps story and I thought he had done very well for himself.
Recently, this image surfaces.
Which made me stop and think about it. Is Donald Trump a good or a bad investor?
And after a short googling.
I found out that some articles wrote that if he had just invested S&P 500 or a put all of his inheritance from his dad in a mutual fund, his Net Worth would be the same as it is today.
He has been claiming to a Net Worth of over $10 billion, which fortune.com obviously finds untrue.
They’ve even made a funny calculator where you can input your Net Worth and multiply it by the same factors as Donald Trump.
… and it seems like no one really does.
But here is something I learned browsing the web.
… if that is true, and if Bloombergs estimation is correct, then he actually underperformed the S&P 500 by alot.
He is always preaching: “I made my self very rich”. – Look how good I am!
What he should be saying is: “I didn’t use all of my dads money on fancy stuff and shenanigans”. – Look how good I am!
All of this has made me conclude, that I will not include his books in my learnings.
As the election goes forward I see myself getting a bit scared about his statements.
Because while Trump would want to gear up for being a nation of military power, North Korea is gearing up for war.
Are we going be caught in a crossfire between USA with Donald Trump as a president, North Korea.. and maybe Russia and China?
Hopefully they’ll miss Denmark because we are so small…
